Hey Bloggers its Shelly,
I have recently seen and heard about Rubbish that should be at the dump put in the charity bins. I thought it was discusting and I still do think it is. The Salvation Army has to pay 6 million dollars to remove the unusable items. I saw a plastic, dirty table with only three legs dumped at a Lifeline bin. No one I repeat NO ONE can use a table with three legs... It wouldnt stand up. I also saw a broken tv, an old NAPPY yes NAPPY,a dirty old esky and a lot of broken toys. All dumped outside of the bin. I believe that to put something in a Charity bin you have to follow these rules:
1. It is usable. Can another person like your friend or yourself use it again?
2. It fits in the Charity bin. If its too big its likely the organisation cant use it.
3. Its not broken. If its broken it belongs at the dump.
As Ive said the Salvation army spends 6 million dollars removing the rubbish..money that could be spent on the homeless rather than on removing useless items dumped by careless people. For those of you who do it, let this be not a warning but an understanding to not to dump trash at Charity bins but instead put it in the real bins..where it belongs.
It's so great to see a Tween with a social conscience.
